MMCSS.ORG STORY
In the spring of 2016, compelled by the heartbreaking diagnosis of a family member, Kathy embarked on a mission and founded the Multiple Myeloma Cure Seeker Society in hopes of raising understanding and funding for research. The ultimate goal is to completely eradicate Multiple Myeloma and all blood cancers.
100% of the funds raised by MMCSS.org will be donated to multiple myeloma research at the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center.
ABOUT MULTIPLE MYELOMA
Multiple myeloma is a form of blood cancer that develops in the bone marrow and has similar characteristics to leukemia and lymphoma. MULTIPLE MYELOMA CURE SEEKERS SOCIETY is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer based organization working to raise awareness, increase resources, and ultimately find a cure for multiple myeloma. One potential cure is immunotherapy, a revolutionary field that shows promise for treating many other cancers. These targeted therapies have the potential to one day replace blood stem cell transplantation as a treatment and be a possible cure for not only multiple myeloma, but other blood cancers as well as some of the most challenging solid tumors, including lung, pancreatic and ovarian cancers.
Multiple myeloma cancer was considered almost untreatable not very long ago, but has seen one of the greatest improvements. Thanks to research, the path has led to development of many new drugs that have tripled the life span of patients.
With this type of cancer, there is much hope on the horizon and with your support we can get much closer to better treatments and find the CURE.
